Objective: To develop recommendations for a corporate policy for asset re-investment
To identify best practice in re-investment for different classes of assets and different return on investment scenarios, supported by world-wide benchmarking and taking account of best practice in other sectors.
Methodology / Analytics: Interviews with other railways and industrial sectors with different growth and profitability, examination of railway and other data collected and best practice in other industries.
· Interviews with those industrial sectors with unit volumes for particular classes of asset higher than those volumes obtaining in the railway sector: Highways, retail, airports, telecom, water, gas and electricity industries, aviation, automotive and computer control companies.
