Iebe Ypma MBA, FRSA
Iebe Ypma is a Dutch national, born in Japan, educated in Germany, South Africa and the United Kingdom. Iebe holds an MBA from Cranfield, has completed the Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance and is a trained trainer and facilitator. He is an FRSA (Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts Manufactures & Commerce) and was, until recently, Chairman of the International Accreditation Advisory Board for the Association of MBAs.
As a consultant Iebe works with clients to ensure that organisational change delivers business benefits. His 25 years experience as a consultant in both the private and public sector has spanned a range of roles from executive responsibility as the global project director, to mentoring board members as an external adviser. His work on these projects is supported by strong skill sets in logistics, procurement, change and project management, as well as IT strategy, IT governance, process innovation and process mapping. |
Prior to completing his MBA, Iebe worked for the Worldwide Marketing and Manufacturing Group of ICL and then for Unilever.
At Unilever and ICL, Iebe managed a number of major projects from concept study through to implementation, including the design and implementation of the highly innovative distribution centre built in Leeds for Elida Gibbs.
On completing his MBA in 1984, Iebe joined AT Kearney, where he worked with clients to enhance profitability, with a personal focus on process analysis, logistics and IT. He then moved to Ernst & Young, where he worked with a range of public and private sector clients across a number of roles, including Global Project director for E&Y’s largest BPR project, based in Atlanta, USA.
Since 2003 Iebe and his business partner have run Alastor Consulting.
Iebe is an experienced consultant who deploys tools, skills and techniques that he has applied across a range of industries. For example, Iebe has worked for:

- AON, Assicurazioni Generali and Aviva
- Microsoft, OKI and E-Plus
- Home Retail Group (Argos and previously GUS), Levi Strauss, B&Q and Burberry
- Government Departments in the UK (including the Department of Health), the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates
- The World Wide Food Programme
- Smaller organisations such as Action Aid, Sussex Coast College Hastings, Central and Cecil Housing Trust, Sevenoaks School and Langley Park School for Boys.
At Unilever, Iebe worked with the Department of Applied Mathematics at Imperial College to commercialise leading edge planning and deckling systems for the UK paper industry.
At Ernst & Young, Iebe developed an approach to analysing and managing product demand that became the foundation for a series of highly successful logistics seminars for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
For a best practice group hosted by the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Iebe developed a set of national guidelines for the procurement, implementation and exploitation of IT.
